Phone companies are retiring their old copper lines and raising prices on the customers still using them. Keep your number, keep the phones on your wall, and pay $11.99 a month. We handle the entire switch for you.
Carriers across the US and Canada are filing to retire their copper landline networks. Whether it's this year or in a few years, that line is going away. The only question is whether you pick your replacement or get assigned one.
Legacy landline pricing climbs year after year, because the phone company would honestly prefer you leave. Our Home plan is $11.99 a month, and the price on the website is the price on the bill.
Same number. Same phones. Same dial tone. A small adapter connects your phones to your internet router, and everything works the way it always has. If you can plug in a lamp, you can set this up.
Calls to other modern networks use HD voice, which sounds noticeably clearer than the copper line ever did. Voicemails can also land in your email so you never have to punch through a menu to hear them.
Takes a few minutes. If you'd rather do the whole thing over the phone with a person, call (855) 801-2441 and we'll set you up start to finish.
You give us your phone number and a copy of a recent bill. We file all the paperwork with your current phone company. Your number never stops working, and you don't have to call them to cancel. The transfer does that automatically.
We ship you a small adapter. It plugs into your internet router on one side and your phone on the other. Plug it in, wait for the light, pick up the handset, hear a dial tone. Done.
Yes. Federal rules give you the right to take your number with you, and we handle the transfer paperwork for free. The whole process usually takes a few business days, and your number keeps working the entire time.
No. The adapter we send has a standard phone jack, so your existing corded or cordless phones plug right in. If you have phones wired into wall jacks throughout the house, call us and we'll talk through the best setup for your wiring.
Yes. E911 is included, and when you sign up we register your home address so dispatchers see where you're calling from. One honest difference from a copper line: because the service runs over your internet, your phone won't work during a power or internet outage, including for 911. We recommend keeping a mobile phone charged as a backup — and setting it as your failover number: automatic failover is included, so incoming calls forward to your cell on their own whenever the adapter is offline. Outgoing calls, including 911, still need power and internet. Full details are in our 911 disclosure.
Almost any home internet connection is fine. A phone call uses less bandwidth than a single low-quality video stream, so even basic internet plans handle it easily.
Yes. We serve Canada as well as the US: your Canadian landline number ports in free, 9-1-1 registration works with your Canadian address, and unlimited calling covers both countries. The one difference is the adapter — we currently ship them to US addresses only, so Canadian customers use their own standard phone adapter (any off-the-shelf ATA works; call us and we'll recommend one) and their phones plug in exactly the same way. Prices are in USD.
Some special devices, like fax machines, older medical alert systems, and home security panels, were designed for copper lines and need extra care over an internet connection. Some work fine, some need a different setup, and some should stay on a dedicated service. Call us before you switch and we'll tell you straight which camp yours is in.
No and no. It's $11.99 a month, month to month. If you cancel, you can even take your number with you to your next provider, the same way you brought it to us.
Sign up in minutes, or call us and a real person in the US will handle the entire switch with you over the phone.
